Happy Birthday Buzz

It must be worth a mention that the most famous living Speedmaster wearer, Dr Buzz Aldrin, turns 92 today.

So many changes in the world since 1930!

For my money, he had the best seat in the best flight ever.
Not first out of the door to be suffocated, sucked inside out, or eaten by aliens (and to slip up on the most famous and quoted line in history).
No flying quarter of a million miles and not even getting out, just spending hours wondering what you’ll tell the boss if you end up coming home alone.

Get there, have your photo taken, and keep your damn watch on. Happy birthday, Buzz!

The best part even after all his career acommplishments he was out there promoting science, motiving young kids even well into his late 80's. Remarkable human being.

Absolutely. He’s an advocate for crewed missions to Mars for the adventure and the scientific knowledge, too, not for bragging rights or to strip it for minerals like some…

And some people might assume his doctorate is an honorary one, but he earned it honestly.

What a character and it needs a picture on this thread.... Maybe as a birthday surprise someone could find that rusty old watch of his. Who knows....it might even still be worth something ;0)

I read somewhere that his father was present when the Wright Brothers took their inaugural flight, and then he was able to watch his son walk on the moon, all in one lifetime - that’s cool. The article also said that his mother’s maiden name was Moon 😲

Happy bday Buzz

I never knew he punched a guy. The guy deserved it.
The moon stuff didn’t push him over the edge, it was “you’re a coward, and a liar, and a thief”….yeah, I would have lost it too. The guy was clearly baiting for that exact reaction- you go Buzz!

Alive yes, but as an 8 year old at school in Worcester MA probably not actually present.

That's true, Marion G. Moon of Texas. Buzz's father is quite famous in his own right as an aviator and engineer. https://dmairfield.org/people/aldrin_ee/index.htm

My brother-in-law believes it was faked, and I nearly lose it every time he says something about it. I reiterate that these men risked their lives and some lost them.

I believe ALL governments are corrupt and dishonest (especially ours), but to believe the entire moon mission was faked takes a special kind of stupid. Makes you wonder if these Fake Moon Landing Nuts believe the Matrix is real.
