This white dial variant is phenomenal....definitely can see one for me in the future...

White for modern Speedy, black for vintage.

Pretty smart of Omega.

Ideal pairing for those who are looking to own 2 MoonWatches or more......Black dial Hesalite and the new White dial Sapphire....

so many "which Moonwatch should I get....Hesalite or Sapphire" threads....wonder if this white dial will now put a stop to it for those looking to buy their first Speedy....

There once was a watch called Speedmaster
Whose dial is now alabaster
New editions continue
To sap money in you
Can they make them come out any faster?

omega is obsessed with celebrity culture

Silly nicknames are a watch community thing, hardly brand-specific. If you know, you know.

For what it's worth, they've been very restrained with true Speedmaster releases recently. No limited editions, and only small updates/occasional variations. The manual Speedmaster still has less SKUs than the Daytona by a mile.

Hi,

Ob in Vienna already sold two of them and has a third one (that is not for sale).

I stopped by the AD owned Omega Boutique and placed a deposit for the white dial Speed Pro yesterday. The owner said that he had so many deposits for the bracelet model that I probably wouldn't receive the watch until next year. However, I could receive the watch much sooner if opted for the racing strap or the rubber strap model. I went with the racing strap and I will purchase a bracelet when it arrives.

GOM meaning... It's stronger than myself
3:33 Designed to be specifically used on the bumpy Lunar Rover in the harsh lunar surface environment, hence the outer case. The Subdial hands are Gemini capsules, not Apollo !
3:58
Aim of the white dial was legibility and reflection of Sunlight so the watch didn't get too hot !
4:10 For a few exercises ? These ex-Alaska II Project Speedmaster chronographs were actually ordered by StarCity Moscow and worn on both the 1977 Soyuz 25 and Soyuz 26 spacflight missions to the Salyut-6 space station.

It's striking, but I'd be more tempted if there were a Hesalite option with the solid caseback.

^^this. And I know that if I added this I’d have to go and find a different bracelet. The new ones are just awful in my opinion.

I don't think you will see any new Hesalite versions going forward, they keep the standard one for the traditionalists, but Omega knows that trying to sell a plastic crystal watch with solid back at a premium price is a loser.

why? Enough people wouldn’t want it any other way. I’d pay actually a premium for that. Hesalite/plexi would look nicer on most watches actually, can easily be buffed and cheaply replaced.
If Rolex came out with a modern-vintage version of a sub with the original plexi dome, people would go nuts.

On the other hand, I think the new bracelets are outstanding. 😀

Congrats. Is the dial surface shiny, satin or matte?

I do not own, but have tried it on in the boutique. Placed a full deposit. I would call it a "shiny" dial- it's stunning.
