Tried to search but came up with nothing. Looking for a good watchmaker or someone that can restore a handset for me. I need new “lume” that will match the dial.

I’m looking for someone in the USA, preferably. Otherwise I’ll send to James Hyman in the UK.

Tanner Morehouse at TM Watch Company in Fargo, ND. His firm did a great job restoring my 1956 Seamaster 2761 which included straightening and replating a bent sweep second hand and replating and reluming the hour and minute hands. Really excellent work.

@gbesq thanks for sharing your before and after.

Just curious did you opt to not have him mix an older looking shade of lume for the hands?

Nice watch by the way, dibs if you ever decide to sell it!

I've had that dilemma too.... the darker the color, the less it glows.

This one was done by Everest, and it's not super-bright, though still useful in full dark with night-adapted eyes.

I opted for a brighter shade of lume because the hands were replated and polished as part of the restoration. I’m very pleased with the way that it turned out.
