This is like NCIS for watches, fascinating stuff.

Incredible read, but you gotta give it to the Author. He went high and low to dig out shit on this guy.

Is there an issue if TC admitted that he was doing Rolex repros and come out to say yes but now he's gone "legit" and made Ginault as a result?

I read about 70% of it and skimmed the rest but still, amazing investigative work. Extremely interesting!

Apart from all the hiding who he is, I guess the biggest issue is that a long established seller of fake Rolexes using Chinese clone movement, dials supposedly made in London etc, then uses these very same parts and tries to pass these watches off as 100% hand made in The USA.
Second issue is WUS deleting posts and the author's suspicion of collusion.

Bizarre story. Interested to see whether US governement will do something about a defense contracter selling fake Rolexes

That was my second though... First if they could give up secrets, but as Foo mentioned, they may have been doing a small part that is not very secretive or immaterial. On the other hand, we hound foreign countries to protect american trade secrets and patents, but here is a company which receives Federal funds infringing on another country's IP's (Swiss, and come to think of it may be registered in the US and worldwide).

Agreed. Funds for TC (fake Rolex watches) going through a US defense contractor is going to be bad for the company.

I would be surprised if it had any impact on the company's ability to continue working on projects associated with the government.

If he's claiming "Hand built in America" for a watch that uses foreign-made parts, that's fraudulent trading. If the business was financed by the proceeds of illegal activities, which admittedly we don't actually know, that's money laundering.

I've only just caught wind of this and not surprised at it seems nearly every other watch board hushes the topic of Ginault by locking or deleting threads. Shocked to hear WUS were involved. Quite the scandal.

Wow! Thanks for sharing! That guy did some great work on the digital forensics! I've never even heard of Ginault, but I now feel more informed!

Anyone else surprised if Rolex doesn't try and take them down?
