    Hello everybody,

I wanted to show you my military (?) Hamilton with the famous Lemania 5100. I don't know a lot about this particular model, a part that has always been with me: it was a gift to my father for good working results, when he was younger. For what he can remember we are talking about end of the 80s begin of the 90s.
I really like this watch, because seems to be not very common. Probably is a limited edition for the Italian market (?). Now is back from a routine service (thanks to the Lemania 5100, never serviced in more than 25 years!) and I changed the original black leather strap (very poor condition now) with a brown rugged leather Bulang & Sons strap.
I hope you will like it and if anyone has any information about, please feel free to share!

NB. Sorry for the pictures. The movement ones are older, the others are just after the service image4.jpeg image5.jpeg image6.jpeg image7.jpeg image8.jpeg image1.jpeg image2.jpeg image3.jpeg

Thanks for your comments! I like how the watch looks like with the new strap and I consider it interesting as well! Can't find anything on the web...reminds me of some Sinn watches of the same era!

the Lemania 5100 was a popular movement in it's time. Sinn, Fortis, Omega (as the cal 1045), Porsche, Lemania themselves, Tutima, lots of different brands used the movement.

Sadly, for those who appreciate the movement, it's period of production was far too short-lived. Though built to economy, the Lemania 5100 (not unlike the Valjoux/ETA 7750) has proven to be a durable, reliable and accurate movement. The advantage over the 7750 is the direct reading of elapsed minutes with the central Chrono sweep hands. Reads like a clock but in minutes and seconds instead of hours and minutes. Combined with the white-on-black dial and the elapsed time bezel, this particular Hamilton is one of the most useful, easy-to-read chronographs I have seen.
    Congrats on being the caretaker!

    Hi. Lovely watch.
Do you by chance have a picture of the inside of the caseback? I am curious to know if the model reference is printed there?!
I Am nuts about vintage Lemania made watches and movements. :)
    DIBS!

The readability of this watch is probably the most appreciated quality, for sure :)

Thank you :) I'm glad that you like it!!
By the way I got a chance to open it and take couple of pictures more.
Inside the caseback is written only '1997'.
I'm sorry if the photos are not that great!

Thought I'd bump this thread to show my Hamiltons with Lemania 5100 movements. I think Hamilton made quite a wide variety of Lemania 5100 watches, but I don't think they were commonly sold in the US. All of mine have Italian day wheels, for example. I'd be interested in seeing other forum members' watches.

    Kind regards,

During the heyday of my Lemania 5100 collecting days, I had 3 Hamilton chronographs in my stable...

I loved all three, but I had a sweet spot for the spectacular blue-dialed Soccer model, which for me was a bit of a poor man's Omega FIFA. Years later after selling these watches, I stumbled upon a picture of a grey-dialed version of the Soccer, but this time named Wembley. Different target market I guess.

I'm impressed with the watches shown as the black bezels have been nicely preserved. Usually they are all nicked up.
