Right as winter storm Benji was ramping up earlier today, I had a chance to get together with my favorite enabler and Atlanta WIS/buddy, Alex @Watch_n_Wrist . He had a few new arrivals that I was begging to see first hand. Since we both had the day off, we were able to do an impromptu GTG at a new East Cobb brew and BBQ (Loyal Q).

The food and beer were really fine, but the new micro-brand models that Alex brought with him were what really had me drooling! We brought a few others as well.

The two new micros were such a surprise delight that I just had to share them here in photos, sparse as they are:

The Baltic Bicompax is this company's second release, and Alex just received his a week or so ago via 'Kickstarter'.

I think they hit a home run with the dial. In a nutshell, deep blue that changes in the light... cool outside track, great contrast with gilt hands and markers. Stepped case finish was excellent as well. 38mm, perfect size IMO...

A Sea-Gull ST-1901 ticks inside. It's definitely a watch that is even better-looking in the steel than it is in pics:

Here's the Halios Seaforth, another blue-dial beauty! 40mm, I think:

As for the storm, well, the snow became rain, then snow again, and now the backyard looks like this; still snowing!!:

Halios I really loved in the flesh. Can't say for Baltic, but on top of being affordable I think Halios uses an ETA (maybe low grade?) 2824-2. Pretty amazing for sub $500 watches

It's actually a Miyota, which one I can't remember, but a great performer nonetheless...

These two are a bit more than that, but worth the extra cash for their beauty, IMO...

Baltic Bicompax are out of stock right now, but ~$660; Halios Seaforth second batch with new colors are supposed to be out sometime this month, I think; maybe ~$700?

Nice. Looks like you guys had fun. That's a lot of pieces for an impromptu GTG. Food looks delicious too.
I would really love to meet Alex in person we talk a lot on the forums, our collection mirrors each others in a lot of ways.
    Thanks for sharing

    Do post pics!

I was trying to decide whether to order the transparent caseback, or the traditional. If the thickness is unchanged, then the 'transparent' will be a 'no-brainer'... usually, however, there's added thickness.

Which one do you have? Do show!
I can't remember where you live, but if you're ever in Atlanta, we have to do a gtg, no doubt!

@Kreindog24 is the king of the microbrands and has a few Baltic himself. And of course @Jwit and I (well and half of Instagram watch nerds) are all over Halios and would love to snag one of the new ones when they hit. Those will have ETA movements btw. Some micros are doing great things. I doesn't have to be a Rolex or an omega to be worthy of being in a true WIS collection.

I'm a fan of Halios. Looking forward to add Seaforth II with ETA in the future.
