It was nice to see a good selection of used Rolex’s and Omegas today..some particularly interesting pieces..

There is also a military issue Omega circa 1946 in the top left corner, 3rd in.

although they are used etc, it was refreshing to see a dealer managing to get stock as far as a window.

edit: I’m not saying prices/condition etc are right, but it was just nice to actually have interest in stopping to look at such restricted pieces.

Awesome display. Great collection. But, if anyone out there is willing to pay over 8000usd for a 40th anniversary Apollo 11 please send me a PM. I’ll sell you mine. 😁

That Omega military watch circa 1946 is a new one on me?? Looks like a WWW with a funky tritium dial. Anyone recognise it?

It’s nice to see a display like that and honestly, some reasonably priced for a retail shop (remember- they have to pay staff, overhead, keep the lights on etc).

Absolutely true. I’m pretty sure London real estate isn’t cheap.

I would grab the Explorer, one of the 5 digit DJ’s and that 5 digit sub and strike a deal for all three... then go home and spend the night rocking back in forth in the corner wondering how I was going to explain that we are eating Ramen for the next month

Me too..! I was taken by surprise, especially being not far off the complete opposite in direction to London. These are in a shop in quiet South Wales, UK.

Either the British pound has plummeted without my knowing or the jeweler is delusional, which may explain the large collection.

Those prices are typical of what high Street resellers in the UK sell Rolex steel sports.

Better than any window display you'll see in the NY Diamond District, IMO. The same Nautilus, Submariners, GMT Master II, Richard Mille, and pavé set everything in almost all the windows. Sometimes the Pateks surprise me and I've seen some old Wakmann chronos once or twice, but this selection had a lot more character.

A friend of mine sent me a similar photo from a window in Istanbul recently. The quality wasn't as high but there was a lot of variety and nice vintage pieces.

Recently in my state someone walked into a jewelry store and smashed the display case and ran off with a few Rolex. Every time I look at this thread I think that would be fun to do with that display. I don’t steal nor do I advocate it but I can’t help those evil thoughts from passing through my brain

Rather than a traditional display/alarm, why not bring in a few watch dogs?

Quite a funky crown on that Ed White...
It's a prototype.

I know that seller personally. He has a lovely personal collection of Flightmasters and is a bit of an Omega fan. He's a nice guy and active in various jewellery trade bodies. You might scratch your head at the prices but this is a high street retailer with all the associated overheads and as noted these tags wouldn't be out of line with elsewhere in the UK. That said, his location isn’t exactly Burlington Arcade or the Côte d’Azur!
