    morning all,

I am VERY keen on acquiring a moon watch, not the reduced, and was wondering if it will work well on my wrist. Closest I currently have size wise is my 64’ Constellation cross hatch w dogleg lugs (pic attached)

    Thoughts??

Whether it will work is a matter of personal taste. I have the opposite problem...big wrist but I wear 36mm watches all of the time.

Try the watch on and get someone to take a photo with your hand in your pocket from a few feet away.

Shots like your one are a bad indication as they focus the watch

Just try it on... The moonwatch wears smaller than the specs suggest.

    What is your wrist size/shape?
I have a 6,75 inch, flat, skinny wrists and the regular speedy was working OK, however for my personal prefernce it too big. When i tried it on for the first time i thought i could pull it off, but after 2 weeks on the wrist i didnt really like the size. So eventually after 1 month i sold mine.
There are people who have even smaller wrists and are totally happy with the size. So its a personal choise.
Now that i look at the photos i do miss it a little bit..

For comparison, thats how a 34mm Constellation wears on my wrist:

Those aren't what is normally known as dog leg lugs, that is a pre-dog leg model. The dog legs have a pronounced kink. As mentioned above, the straight lug Speedmaster models wear better on a smaller wrist, though the dial size is actually the same on both Pro and straight lug.

    Thanks!

The straight lug Speedies were earlier or later versions?

They are much earlier versions and somewhat more pricier;)

Well no. The FOIS, Trilogy Speedy and recent CK2998 variants also qualify as straight lugs so I didn't just mean the Ed White and earlier pieces.

Earlier version but there are some reedition models like the speedmaster FOIS.

I have a 6.5" wrist and the speedy pro wears fine. I wish my wrist was a bit bigger but I've worn a pro for months without getting tired of it.

Thanks! maybe its not only the look that bugged me, but also the way it wore on my arm, i just was not in love.
dont get me wrong, i do like a speedy, but somehow i am not that much into chronographs at the moment.

Speedmaster Reduced comes in at just under 39mm. Might be an option if the Speedy Pro or FOiS is too large.

You have to try it on to decide if a Speedy is too big. You don't have to buy a speedy.. if you're looking for a smaller chronograph, you can also consider a 38mm Zenith El Primero. That may work better for a smaller wrist.

As others have suggested, i would try one on and not buy blindly, the specs are misleading to how they look on the wrist.

So quick update, went to the local (only) omega store and tried both the FOIS and the Moonwatch.....both work phenomenally!

Big relief, very excited to get serious about a purchase. Thanks to everyone for their input on this!

Bought my first Speedy in March (I think). Went with the FOIS. It hasn't left my wrist since - adore it. Good luck.

Edit - my post history says I bought it September 17th 2018. Wow. I guess it's true what they say, "time flies".
