Admittedly these are cheap straps, but wanted to get an idea of what the face looked like on different colours before spending £££££ on something that didn't look great! Quite liking the black and tan with the face, makes it look like a completely different watch! Thoughts?
I was looking at putting my GS on a blue Stingray strap but the blue and silver doesn't work as well as I thought it would. Think the tan strap looks best. Got 2 on order from Heuerville but he's quoting 14 week lead time at present.
When you start doing things like this, I think its time for another watch. The Greyside is hard to improve upon in its natural state... A Vintage Black side of the moon would give you the alternate look you might be craving!
If you don't have a lot of watches and/or straps to change around as you choose your clothing for the day, Black will be the most universal.
The stock strap is still the best IMO. But if you need to change it up, the black looks very nice as well. Not a fan of the other two options you posted.
Getting a new Hirsch black croc tomorrow for the Gsotm. Can't wait. I have had it on nato for the last 2 weeks and am loving it.
Tried on the Hirsch black leather last night and want a big fan I am sending it back and holding out for oem black leather on deployment Be careful taking out the spring bars. I created a nick in mine by mistake
That's a little too large of a gap between the strap and the case for my liking. Maybe a Hirsch curved end strap would've been a better choice? How's the leather quality, is that at least up to snuff?
The leather was stiff and I agree about the gap I sent it back today The omega strap fit like a glove when I was at the boutique
I want to go into NYC and check out the place that supplies the omega leather straps I think they have a shop in midtown
Traveler told me that they're really not a retail shop at the moment, but rather a studio office space, so you can't really try on the straps. I'm thinking of ordering a few pretty soon, and I'm in NYC, so possibly a meetup could happen. As Traveler said though, the quality is the exact same since they do the OEM'ing for Omega, so if you've tried on the Omega Black Coated Nylon or the Omega Tan Leather straps you know what to expect.
A couple of days ago I added the burgundy strap from the platinum Speedmaster with moonphase (304.93.44.52.99.001). Very happy to move away from the pin buckle to the ceramic deployant. I think the burgundy goes well with the red Speedmaster script on the face and the contrasting stitching works well too.
I wish they made a gray version of the nylon/cordura strap that they use for the original DSotM. Leather doesn't seem to be a good match for the GSotM as it's both too sporty and too big.
