That's what we call a Mumbai special. I seriously doubt the dial began its life that color.

I would suggest as per @efauser that it's a "Mumbai special". To elaborate, it's had its dial reprinted and repainted. As such, it's of little or no value to a collector. That having been said, and from the pictures posted, it's been done by someone with a modicum of skill, and to me is not unattractive. There is a market for these refinished watches and it's up to you to decide (having done research) whether the price is what you are prepared to pay and whether you will enjoy wearing it.

Probably best not to buy it unless it is dirt cheap as it is definitely not an investment.

I can assure you, @Edward53 wouldn't buy it, no matter the cost, unless he needed a case or movement.

I would never buy it, even if it was for 10$.

I'm prepared to be stoned and have my taste called into question but I quite like it.

That said, it's likely to be a complete hatchet job of case, movement and hands (I mean, those hands are pretty bad, water damaged?, and don't auger well for the movement. All correct Seamaster in used condition regularly come through Auctions at £60-80 and I wouldn't spend more than that one this one.

I haven't tried googling it but I'd be very surprised if it isn't a redial.

I do like green Seamasters though. Here's mine from '96 DSCN0314.JPG
