Just found this webpage and I thought I would share it here in case anyone is looking for a thorough and well-illustrated explanation of the way a basic mechanical moment works.

I am not a watchmaker, but this seems really well-done to me. Love the moving illustrations.

The same person has done a number of other awesome illustrated/animated guides to things. I really enjoyed the ones about internal combustion engines and cameras/lenses.

I stumbled upon this a couple months ago myself. The interactive animations are very helpful. We should request him to add in the co-axial escapement. That took me a minute to wrap my head around.

I see this pop-up now and then on various forums, but I not complaining since it is always fascinating to see!
