Hi all,
My grandad passed away 34 years ago and I have just received his watch as a present. I did some research and from what I understood this is a De Ville, I imagine in solid gold, the movement is quartz 1365. I'm not sure as I have not found the exact watch online. Does anybody know more? I would love to know more as much as possible, I have never met my grandad. Thank you in advance!

You will need to take it to a watchmaker and have them open it up. The information needed is on the inside of the case.

I looked at the Omega Vintage Database, but did not see an exact match. This database is incomplete, so I’m not surprised.

The watch was likely produced between 1980 and 1985.

Hope this helps,

This is one of those quartz watches that people loved to hate, back in the day. The hand setting is done with the button on the edge of the case at the 3 position. After Omega introduced that cumbersome system for setting the time, there was such a huge ground swell of dissatisfaction among dealers, watchmakers, and the watch buying public that Omega redesigned their quartz watches to simplify setting the time. My guess on your watch is that it is possibly mid-1970s, or thereabouts. Before the Swatch conglomerate bought Omega.

You have all the information. What else do you need? They have more family value than monetary value.

Hi! I was not asking to know how much it was worth, I was asking to understand what I was wearing. Thank you

You have guessed correctly, it is sold gold and of the De Ville line.
It's a presentation watch that was ordered by many companies to present to their employees as rewards for service as it appears this one was., The dial is not marked De Ville as sometimes companies had their own logo applied to the dial.

It's in average condition (due having been worn regularly I suspect) with case wear and slight water damage near the setting button (at 3 o'clock).

The closest I can identify it as is a 191.0101 as shown here in a steel version on the OVDB.

It was gifted by the "Banco di S.Spirito" (Bank in Rome) to your granddad, I doubt they would gift something not new. If you are in Italy, I can suggest you a couple of places where to get it serviced, and somebody who can retouch very gently and with a respectful hand those couple of spots in the dial which have rusted
