Doing a little consolidation this month and looking for a new home for my Grand Seiko 6245-9001 from April 1967. Made for just over a year in 1966-1967, this is the rare bird that inspired so many of the new Grand Seikos, including the Historical Collection reissues (SBGR models) and Seasons Collection (SBGA models). The angularity and play of light on the dial and plots make this one of the coolest Grand Seikos IMHO. I really love the aesthetics of this watch, but for whatever reason I don’t find myself wearing it often, so I’m hoping one of you nice people might like to have it.

Photos are below, and here are a couple videos: https://imgur.com/a/ax6peZU

    What’s good about this watch:
    · The sunburst dial and faceted, mirrored plots are in wonderful shape. The play of light is exceptional.
    · The case is 36mm diameter and wears a bit larger due the bezel-less design. Looks great on my 18.5cm/7.25” wrist.
    · The case facets are sharp, and the case is attractive.
    · Grand Seiko medallion on the caseback and lettering is well-preserved and legible.
    · The watch is running great – my timegrapher is reading +5 face up, -2 crown up, +7 crown down with very acceptable amplitude and beat error.

    What you should know:
    · Case and caseback have light marks in keeping with the age of the watch, but no nicks or dings that I can see.
    · There is a very light mark on the dial between 12:00 and the SEIKO logo. It’s hard to see in most lights.
    · The crystal is most likely aftermarket.
    · The fellow I bought it from said it was serviced in Singapore at the end of 2021, but I don’t have any service papers.

A lot of ink has been spilled on the 62GS, which doesn’t come up for sale often in USA or Europe. Have a read!

    Pricing and terms:
    · $1550 via Paypal F&F, Zelle, or wire transfer.
    · Price includes insured, overnight Parcel Pro shipping in the United States.
    · Price is head only. I am happy to throw in the pictured Veblenist strap for an additional $30.
    · Photos form part of the description, please look closely!
    · Please no returns unless seriously misrepresented.
    · I prefer a US sale.
    · Trade offers welcome, but I’m primarily looking for an Art Deco style watch or two from the 1920s through 1940s. But try me, it’s always interesting to see what people have.

I have sold several watches and some parts here, at WUS (same username), and at Reddit Watchexchange (PM for username). Please check out my post history and feedback – buy the seller!
