Some say the prices for vintage watches have gone through the roof and it is not fun anymore.
But if you look around there are so many brands and models that offers interesting looks, nice movements or just a
    bit of fun around.
One example is Orient which have been producing watches since the 50s, some nice, some horrible, some plain and some just... :-0
The top model in the middle of the 60s was the GP 100 with 100 jewels movement and it came in different cases,
    different dials and some waterproofed.
I had one in stainless with 100 m waterproofed before and recently added one in gold on steel that is more formal.
Still it not an dress watch as it is not an slim watch with rather bulky lugs.
    Please not the Triostat adjustment.

I agree. If I would enter this hobby now and on a shoestring I would definitely go for Orient, Citizen, Tissot, etc. A lot of nice and fun watches. And of course - always go - condition, condition, condition...

Here is my vintage Orient De Luxe King Diver.
