Yes, but pink/rose gold does command a premium over yellow gold. The $1700-ish dollar difference is about right.
Yes it's a stepped dialed pink gold Grand Luxe but IMO not worth this in that condition. Looks a little beat up with a tattered movement and a 50s watch in a 70s box... Hmmm, wonder what my DeLuxe would bring in, in these crazy days!
Doesn't matter to me. I haven't amassed the funds for that kind of expense without selling something else.
Also available BIN for around usd 16k. http://lu-ann.com/product/omega-constellation-grand-luxe-18kg-auto/
The damage on the case near the crown doesn't look to good - if beggers can be choosers. Is it just me or does that crown look gold capped and quite worn? Shouldn't it be solid gold?
No such thing as a solid gold crown. It would be too weak to use. All gold crowns have steel underneath with layers of gold clad over them, like what is called gold capped or gold plated depending on the thickness of gold.
I realised I phrased that poorly. I meant, isn't it supposed to be a thick cold "cap" around the steel base with the screw thread, as opposed to just a gilded steel crown? This one seems just thinly gilded, like 20 microns perhaps.
