Great watch... enjoy... but in a couple of months a new grail will appear is the way it is.

Apples and oranges. You're comparing a tool watch and a dress watch. Design priorities are completely opposite.
There both watches that are priced similarly.. They look different but they do the same function, show off and look good.

I happen to like this watch even though it's not my style. But the design parameters of a tool watch and a dress watch are completely different. You can argue the Speedy design vs another similar tool watch. But to say the Constellation design is superior to the Speedy is a fallacious argument in my opinion. It's like arguing that a particular roadster is superior in design to a pick up truck. Sure, they're both motor vehicles. But the design of the truck is constrained by functional requirements that are not imposed on the roadster.

That is totally true, but for now, I'm savoring the victory 😀

Gorgeous. They say "sometimes the hunt is better than the kill", but I don't think that could be possible with a kill like this. Congrats

Ps. Can't believe no one called dibs

I guess that why omega made different strokes for different folks. @AAAKK is merely stating that they do not serve the same purpose as you stated, no matter your desire for one or the other ... and bringing the comparison between the two into the conversation was pointless.

You have a good point.

My question is this: Which watch would Don Draper wear?

The extract was interesting. I went to the Omega sight and see that you can order one for 120 Swiss Francs.

In English.

Except for those of us in the US.
I may actually consider one for my late father's watch that is sitting in Manhattan ready to be picked up. It is a 1952 18k Connie.

Congrats!
