But: I absolutely love vintage IWC....so please, tell me. what did you score?!

Haha no worries, yeah I just got this guy below! In the mail on the way right now...

As I'm sure you know, there so many subtle variations available on a 18k rose gold IWC cal 89 from the 50's, but in the end I had my heart set on the 12-3-6-9 version with the slightly rounded (as opposed to straight or 'bombe') lugs, so found a reasonable deal on chrono24. To me it's the most modern variation, and slightly larger at 36mm! Had to opportunity to buy a straight lugs 35mm version for about 30% less on the price, but just couldn't compromise unfortunately!

oh man that's beautiful! those lugs are amazing! yeah would love to have your exact watch in 18k rose gold.. the only option i saw though with those lugs on chrono24 was priced at like 5k USD or something ridiculous. beautiful watch
