Do i understand correctly, that if i wanted e.g. a Pulsation bezel on my FOIS i would have to go to the AD where i bought the watch, and thats a service they can provide? (they are an official Omega service center)

Not sure if they would install one on an FOIS (it never came with one originally, as the normal Speedmaters did), but for a regular Speedmaster yes if they have access to the parts, and have the skills to change it.

Like Archer said, the term service is dubious. A same part can be service for some refs and factory for some other refs...I guess the bezel you can get from AD are the same as the 90’s ones

Ah thats cool, i had no idea they do that.
i also thought that those are service parts only for Speedmasters that originally came with these bezels.
Thanks! 👍

You could order a Speedmaster with the optional bezels if you wanted. You probably still can if you went to an AD or OB, but most people are unaware of this and the AD/OB would probably not know much about it either. Would be interesting if someone would ask if they can special order a Speedmaster with a different bezel...

And keep in mind that "service" parts are just parts - the current parts that Omega is using on whatever model if the model is still in production. If the model is out of production, it would be the parts that were the last versions made while it was in production.

The term "service parts" is primarily a creation of watch forums, not some official designation from Omega themselves. When I order a bezel, I don't order a "service bezel", I just order a bezel. Same with a dial, hands, crown, pushers, whatever...

Since Omega would mostly replace dial, hands or a damaged bezel during a service, that term "service dial/hands/etc" would originate from that, i guess.
But it makes perfect sence what you are saying.

I replaced my brake pads and discs myself, that would make it a "franken" 😎
