World's first day/date GMT - https://shop.ballwatch.ch/en/rmgmt 40mm, 14mm thick, 200m WR, Black or Blue dial, $2495 in US if ordered today 6/17. I think that it's a very good value proposition, and am tempted. What do you all think, especially Ball owners ...
Dial looks too busy to me and the lume on the hour and minute hand is too short/similar in length to my eye. It is colourful. But it is about what you like. have fun kfw
Looks like they are trying to hard. Not sure why company's use the red and blue bezel when they will only get slated for it.... Sorry for the negativity But, if you like it that's what really matters
Three time zones maybe? (Assuming the bezel rotates...or may be the inner one does. Lots of crowns and stuff. have fun kfw
I found myself staring at this video the other day. Facebook has figured out that I'm a watch guy. Frankly I think it a great tool watch. I love the quickset gmt adjusters/3 time zones/illumination.... The look is great. I'm sure its a rugged piece. Buy it if you like it. Yes, It will have the Rolex pendants wetting themselves. There was some of that going on with the latest Timex release. (screaming for a lawsuit ).
Too bad no Ball owners have replied. I’m not one either. I think it would make a great summer watch, a super fun watch. It screams for attention, it’s loud imho. But I have been contemplating purchasing a Hamilton PanEuro, with the blue color scheme, so that’s why I would consider this watch as an alternative. Although it is about 4 times the street value of the Hammy. Best regards,
I have a Ball watch, the Ohio Engineer II with a moonphase. It's a beautiful watch. But I've never liked a lot of the typography/aesthetic of their other lines.... too rectangular/busy without a purpose, and I think that GMT falls into that bucket for me .
I used to own a Ball engineer hydrocarbon spacemaster orbital 2 GMT Chronograph. Sold it to a friend who needs a ball. I would say buy it coz you like it not bcoz you cant get the pepsi rowlecktoz.
Interesting. day date GMT sounds so simple, but nobody has done it before. I guess now they have to add another layer of drivetrain for the GMT hand.
I am starting a collection. I have a magnificent vintage Omega pie pan constellation 168.0004, inheritance of my father, and just bought that Ball marine GMT, a blue dial so that nobody can confuse this watch with a Rolex GMT II. The drivers for this purchase, I initially wanted to purchase the famous Rolex Pepsi Co, then came across this Ball, is that it is innovative (easy adjustment of the GMT (only found in Patek previously, maybe you know better, I am just a starter), Daydate), it is sober, it has better features than the Rolex (200 meters, Titanium, magnetic resistant), it has brilliant lume... And most importantly, it is available for purchase. I am reluctant to invest in any second hand watch, especially the kind of amount required by a sport Rolex (Batman and Pepsi Co). There are limits to marketing, even if I understand that flooding the market will reduce value for existing owners... I was told by Rolex stores that they do not maintain any waiting list for their sport watch anymore, as demand is too high... Will post pictures when I receive it.
Really like it. It’ll be neat to see if it gets reviewed online as do enjoy a good, thorough in-depth look.
Not a fan of this design, though I am surprised this combination of complications is a first. Seems quite useful for travel.
It’s COSC, titanium, day/day GMT, 3 time zones and looks great on bracelet and rubber. And it’s not a giant beast.
I like the hands. I can't get past Ball's blocky tritium numerals. I have decided I don't like huge numerals taking up half the dial.
My job is to travel, so for sure the GMT 3 time zones will come handy. I also like the fact that it is not a huge watch, 40mm seems a very good size for my size of wrist.
