Hey all, hoping for some suggestions for a friend who needs work done on a Speedmaster in the Denver area. Anyone have any trust worthy independent watchmakers that are good with Omega? Any and all suggestions in that area would be much appreciated!

My favorite is James, owner of Nuway Watch. Off of Arapahoe blvd in Centennial. He’s a one man shop in an office building. Very honest and helpful with everything I have brought him. Highly recommend.

Have also used Right Time for shipping to and from Omega for full service. The work was fine (thanks Omega) but customer service here hasn’t been the greatest with most my visits to their Colorado blvd location. (They have another location further south. The staff there seems much nicer but I haven’t personally used them for anything other than window shopping.)

Hope this helps. Good luck!

That’s great to hear, thank you! Was just reading some really good yelp reviews on Nu-Way, so great to hear from a member who’s actually dealt with them.

Good to know, thanks for sharing this! I'm in Colorado Springs and have been curious if anyone has recommendations for a place down here?

Little update, my friend called NuWay, and fortunately they said they couldn’t work on his watch. A 1990s Omega speedmaster reduced, 3510.50. They said they don’t work on that movement, which I was really surprised to hear. All good, he is sending it off to someone.

Yes the reduced and one of the later Dynamics, the 2 register chrono, use a modular chrono movement. Omega is the place to send them, generally. The module is apparently kind of tricky to really service. Maybe you found someone that will actually do the module, too. I've seen a utube.

The module is part of the running movement and if not in spec will negatively effect the base movement. I know this from experience. I also know Omega does a excellent job on them.

Thanks, really appreciate the info. Yes, found a few options for independent watchmakers that are very familiar with that movement, he’s sending to one now.

You should make sure that they are servicing the entire movement, and not just the base movement under the module. Every hand you see moving on the watch is part of the module, so not servicing the module is only dong half the job. Many watchmakers who claim to service these, only service the base movement and not the entire thing.
