    Can't stop wondering who owned this - it was originally purchased in the UK - probably London - so maybe an officer who survived the First World War… Guess we will never know...

    To get this thread back to the subject at hand, that is a nice early Rolex cushion/tonneau cased example. I don't know much about these.

    Thanks Adam - A quick Google of "Herbert Wolf Ltd" indicates that this was quite a prominent jewellers and watchmaker in London at the time with various examples of pocket and early wristwatches signed by the name popping up in auctions.
