    Hello all,

Good a quick question to see whether this Seamaster is gold plated or solid gold. It's a non standard case so I cannot open the case back to verify more thoroughly.

Here's a photo of the only stamp I could find on the case. Is a 20 next to the Omega symbol in a triangle.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Usually a mark like that between the lugs in the plate thickness in microns so that would be 20Microns of plate. You would need to see inside the case to be sure but my money is on plate. I have a hummer from the same period with 80 between the lugs which has 80 microns.

That particular model of case usually shows very clearly that it is plated. The case back often shows serious "biassing" of the plating on the back.

As a general rule: if the case back is steel = non solid gold

This hasn't got a separate caseback. It is a front loading Cosmic so that rule doesn't work here, though it does otherwise.
