Recently I had begun a bit of a hunt for a good Seamaster Chronograph 176.007 having fallen for that stunning blue dial and chunky 70s case.

Doing my research, I had read all the fantastic forums and advice on the OF and also on Andy K's brilliant website, Calibre1040, on all the dial variations and quirks of the .007. The more I read the more I was hooked. Of course the daddy of them all was the Yachting .010 but I was happy to get the 007.

Having searched high and low and missed out on a beautiful 007 from the Private Sales Forum (still not marked as sold:confused:) I happened upon this.

Here we have one of the hardest to find 70s Omega Chronographs the gold plated Seamaster Yachting Chronograph 176.010 and found in near mint condition, even still has its original strap and buckle :D

This is a big watch and until you see it next to the 007 you would be mistaken in thinking they are the same case - this is bigger. The finish is superb with the different mix of brushed and polished gold and the bezel has an amazing gold brown colour that is different in each light. The correct case is marked between the lugs with the 20 microns and Omega symbol.

Sorry for all the photos, I'm in love::love::

    Nice,
I know that there are a lot of dial combos but would you not expect to find a gold or brown dial with gold plating?
I would love to own a yachting one day, but quite satisfied with this for now

There are times when I wished that I still sailed.
There are times when I can't resist a yacht timer with proper countdown complications.
There are times when I wished that I did the kind of sailing which merited a suitably luxurious piece such as this rather than being better served by a big, crude but legible when very wet digital display.
    Lovely watch.
Tell me please, it looks as though the the chrono counts down through ten and five minutes to zero and then counts up? And in the 10 and 5 minute phase, how easy is it to re-start the process?

I have the Tissot version. I am also in love with it, they are great watches.

@tikkathree the stopwatch is a standard Lemania 1341(1040 version in the Omega) chronograph so the central large minute hand counts down in reference to the fixed bezel. Then it can carry on as a standard chrono.

The op’s watch is in incredible condition. Props!

The Tissot version is beautiful and the case and bezel is identical in every way to the Omega stainless steel version as they were supplied by the same manufacturer. The gold version is differentiated by the hallmark between the lugs on the Omega.

The combination of brushed and polished really does add a bit of bling to the watch which I wasn't expecting.

Sorry, just realised the question in your reply. The gold and brown dial I have only ever seen on @Andy K website and is spectacular. The gold silver dial Yachting, as in this one, I have only seen in one other listing and that was on the Regatta-Yachtimers website by Mark Reichardt, where they mentioned it along with an image, other than that, there has been very few of these to appear.

The only other gold dial one I have seen was listed was on OF last year for sale but this was not a typical Yachting dial as the markers were not typical and the dial was very different to all other Yachtings

Yes, even the crystal on the Tissot has the Omega symbol. The SSIH group cross over is strong. The quality of the Omega dial with the numbered applied indices really elevates this watch to the next level!

I was fortunate to acquire the watch from Draven. The buckle appears to be gold plated, as is the watch. The strap is nice quality leather, seems to be original, and has Omega branding. For me, though, it seemed too dainty for the watch - 22mm at the lugs, tapering wildly to only 14mm at the buckle. I have since replaced that strap with a padded black croc strap and Omega deployant (sadly, though, the deployant is steel, not gold).

Thank you for showing us! Curious buckle since it has so much wear compared to the watch. Your black croc strap looks great on this watch!
