I have searched for a simple and elegant looking gold Omega for quite some time now. And when i say simple, i mean simple!
No date, no lumen, no nonsense.
And then, out of the blue, the perfect one popped out in excellent condition!
A ref. 14720-3 from 1960 in 14 carat gold with a cal. 285 and the most beeeeeaautiful and flawless satin dial with sword/spear hands.
Original crown, glass (although with some scratches), box, buckle AND the original waranty papers from where the watch was bought here in Copenhagen.
Needles to say, i haven't been this excited over a watch purchase ever in my relatively short "career" in vintage Omegas!
The case is unpolished with the sharpest of lugs and only very few and light scratches on the casing in general.
I have of course included some pictures!
I may not be the rarest out Omega out there, but until the funds are for a 18 karat gold Constellation, i am more than happy to have this by my side!
In regards to the originality, the seller reassured me that the dial and everything else is 100% original (not counting the strap, of course). He is quite a reputable seller here in Denmark, and he signed a written letter, where he personally guarantees the originality.
As always with flawless dials one could become a bit skeptical, but after seeing it up close and when considering the condition of the case and movement, i see absolutely no reason that the dial should not be original.
BUT: I of course do not have nowhere the same experience on how to determine redials as you do, so i would of course value your inputs and opinions on the watch in general as well!
But i would be VERY surprised, if its indeed not an original dial
Best regards
Frederik
