This big beauty came up for sale locally about a week ago. It is not perfect or NOS but it is not bad for a 45+ year old 18k watch. The original edges are still there if a little bit rounded. The model number, Movado logo, the words Sub Sea and 18k are still quite visible on the back. It all works and keeps time and it came with box and original manual. How could I pass it up? JohnCote
Love it! Another one to add to the wish list - what's its reference number?.... I need to start playing the lottery.
Now that is one spectacular watch. Enjoy it in good health. Curious if you don't mind me asking; how much does it weigh?
The Golden Manacle! Well done - you will be very well positioned for the next currency crash with the IRA-on-the-wrist.
It is...I had the steel version of this watch for a long time... I loved the look and I got it cleaned and wore it a lot. I got used to the weight...my wife says my right arm is a bit longer. I sold the SS about a year ago and I have really missed it. The gold version is much heavier. I haven't weighed it but it feels like it weighs about a half pound. It is not something I will wear every day. Too much bling...but I like how it feels on my wrist. I love the logic of how the dial is designed. This is the third Zenith/Movado watch with the full calendar ELP movement I have owned and so far it is my favorite. JohnCote
I will be traveling for a while...a couple of weeks. I will weigh it when I get home...It feels like it weighs more than my CoAx PloProf...which weighs a lot. JC
Yup Lou...one of two things can happen when a guy wears a watch like this... 1) someone can beat him up and take the watch... 2) someone to whom he owes a huge bar bill with take the watch instead of cash. Maybe the lesson is simply not to wear a watch like this out on the town. I am off to Paris next week...this watch will be snug in my safe deposit box. I will wear a watch which will would only pay a much smaller bar bill. JC
