Interesting article as on 23rd January 2019 I had asked Alfred Worden about his watches !
This Golay-Longines wrist watch did not fly onboard any spaceflight mission. In fact, there're no NASA training photos showing the watch being used other than the official 1971 WSS - White Space Suit portrait. The Apollo 15 astronauts each received two NASA-issued Omega Speedmaster chronographs, of which one, on their demand, was modified with a practical " 60 minutes " bezel. In the end the original Speedmaster with Tachymètre bezel was worn during Apollo 15, with David Scott carrying an extra Bulova stopwatch and a 44 mm Bulova prototype 885104 chronograph which he worn during Lunar-EVA-3 until splash-down back on Earth!
Won't share what Worden said about modern day watches... #MoonwatchUniverse

Before the question will be asked... Any Longines space-flown during spaceflight missions ?
AFAIK during Gemini VIII, March 1966, Neil Armstrong wore the big crown Longines-Wittnauer-Weems aviator watch which belonged to his childhood pilot hero James “Jimmie” Mattern (1905-1988),... later on Apollo 11, Armstrong carried a flight logbook of James Mattern onboard "Columbia".

Meeting Apollo 15 CMP Alfred Worden during a VIP event in Berlin gave me the opportunity to speak with him about pilot watches and NASA-issued Speedmaster chronographs. He was glad someone had something interesting to talk about!
As this was a very interesting conversation, I decided to write it up in an article to commemorate USAF Colonel astronaut Alfred Merrill Worden, who passed away March 18, 2020...
