    Hello OF family,

I'm headed down to Seattle tomorrow morning for a Chili Peppers concert and will be there until I fly out on Monday. Does anyone have recommendations as far as vintage watch shops go? I can't find much on Google. I'm looking at Fox's (which is a Nomos retailer and I've never seen those watches in person) as well as Tourbillon Boutique, but I really would like to find a shop that has some vintage stuff on hand.

Thanks for the help and/or suggestions, and happy Thursday!

    Jeff

Per this thread it looks like only one member lives in Seattle so you may not have much luck unfortunately.

Let us know what you find if no one comes by to help!

Damn, that's okay! The two places I've listed will suffice. I'm just really itching to see some nice vintage pieces in the flesh, since I never really have. I appreciate the input, guys!

I haven't found much in my search either. A local watch shop near my place had a dozen or so vintage pieces the last time I was there - Arc Watch Works and Engraving in Bellevue.

I would be very careful as that watch has been on Craigslist for at least 3 months and with good reason. It's listed as a 145.012 but has a painted logo, DNN and caseback polished to hell and back. I think the rest of the watch has been polished as well, it looks very shiny.

Instead of watches, why don't you go drive up Mount Rainer or take a ferry and drive to Mount Olympus? Could be much more fulfilling.

I spent a couple of years in the area during my Microsoft days

@WatchVaultNYC That's a great idea to do that drive. I've been to Seattle a few times but have never done that.

The watches are not going to be a big chunk of the day, I just never see any nice vintage shops since I live in Montana. The sole purpose definitely is not to see watches. :)

@Atalien2005 thank you for the heads up. I'm not intending to purchase, just to look.

It's supposed to be a sunny day on Sunday. I'll be going up to Paradise in Mt. Rainier National Park and sledding with the kid and friend. Looks like about 5 feet of snowpack now. Fun (bring chains for car, probably won't be needed but required to have them). Current webcam:

Of course if you're from Montana you may have all the snowplay you care for.

3 months, try like 3 years on CL. I would stay away from that watch. Tourbillon Boutique and Fox's are about it in Seattle. Out in Bellevue there is a nice Omega Boutique that is empty every time I visit and the salesmen jump on you (in a good way) and will show you anything because they look so bored. I second the advice to take in the sights. And Sunday is supposed to be sunny!!! Probably only the 3rd sunny day we have had since October. Which means the roads will be packed - everyone has been holed up in their houses so if it is sunny on Sunday - go early or you will be in a line of traffic. I have lived here for 25 years and this has to be the darkest, most rainy winter I remember.

Update: I've been stuck in traffic while headed to a pre-Chili Peppers dinner. Tomorrow we are going downtown (I'll check out a vintage guitar shop and Fox's) after a jog in the morning. After that, I think we are planning on either going on a hike or toeing Seattle's best breweries. Tough choice on a rainy day, honestly.
