Gmt bezel insert question

Hi all,

Last week I bought a 2002 16710 gmt.
The watch came with 3 inserts: the all black that originally came with the watch, a brand new Coke and a faded Pepsi.

I am wondering what the age of the pepsi might be. Any ideas?

The GMT sapphire crystal models, which is what you have there, spanned from the mid-late 80 to about 2007. The first sapphire was the Fat Lady, 16760, but only came with the coke insert.
So your particular insert could fall anywhere in between 1988-2007.

I do not think I have a black bezel insert for a sapphire but I will check when I get home on Thursday and let you know..

Don't just get any black insert, if you notice the back of your pepsi insert, it has two steps whereas the 1675/16750 (for plastic crystals) does not have the large step. The inside diameter of the sapphire insert is larger than its predecessor..

My K serial 16710 had the same amount of fading, they look really nice and give the watch a nice vintage look.

thanks, good to know! my 16710 came with the coke bezel, and yes, it does appear to have a step:

Mine is also a K serial. the original black bezel does not seem to have faded.
