Looking for some info on the Glycine brand....looks like the Airman style is the most collectible but I see they also offered some 2 and 3 register chronograph versions.

    Just curious!

A nice early Glycine Airman is my radar when the right one comes along.

Looks like they used a Vajoux 72 movement and very similar (some sites say same case) as a Heuer from the same era. This is just an example of the style I am wondering about.... watch 1.jpg

Note that recently Glycine was just bought by.......Invicta!

I realize most talk in this thread is about vintage, but maybe something to be aware of...

    This is my only Glycine.
In a case very similar to Heuer's Camaro. (very old sellers pics)

I have seen the three register variant as well.

Not a Valjoux in this one.
    Landeron?

Guess "Invicta Glycines" won't come in solid 18kt gold cases.

Or have sturdy movements that just last and last.

Fossil's purchase of the Zodiac name didn't have a negative effect on the vintage prices. Hopefully, this won't have a neg on my old Glycine's. Who owned them before? Holding company? I know they went off the map like just about every other 2nd tier manufacturer in the mid '80s.

hmmmmm. Google shows that Glycine was family owned (majority stake) until 2014.

Glycine made some very early automatic watches:

These are very hard to find today.

Regarding the Invicta purchase of Glycine, if anything, I think that once they start showing up on late night TV, the value of vintage Glycines will go up. Very few in the US have ever heard of the brand.

    That's about to change.

They had a hong kong based finance group buy a majority holding of them rather quietly a few years ago.

The reaction on social media seems to have surprised Invite, and their trumpeting announcements soon came done

Their CEO's have both been intereviewed ( I read it on Blog To Watch) as saying they plan on leaving them alone.

    We shall see.

I have my late grandfather's dress Glycine. I don't know when or why he got it.
