路Circa 1965 Glycine Airman watch with box.
Owned by US Airforce LTC who flew in Vietnam.
Serviced by James Sadilek, August, 2022.
A. Schild caliber 1701, EPSA case, working original hack.
Provenance: Box includes owner's name with several service dates written inside. Also service paperwork from 1990 when he sent it to Glycine.
Copy of obituary from internet matches name and address.
James is the expert on Airman and has a long waiting list for service. This has already been serviced by him. The hacking wire was bent down and he straightened it and put it back in the dial hole. Serviced and lubed as normal.
Reason for sale: long story short, I acquired three Airman in short order. The last one and one i intend to keep is a 12 on top, which is scarce. I acquired this one here intending to keep it and sell the previous one I had, also for sale in another post. Just wierd luck. This is a killer watch but I only want one, if this makes sense.
One last thing to note. The pilot who owned this watch may have traded his old one for this. What makes me think this is that the serial number of the watch is different from the one written on the box. He also has a letter he wrote to Glycine asking for service with "trade in offer" noted on it. The watch here has a circa 1965 serial number so is the correct era. It's not clear if this was his original watch or one he traded for later. But he clearly wore and was attached to Glycine Airman based on the service history. I can't imagine finding a better vintage Glycine Airman.
$1950 USD, incldes shipping to Canada and USA. Elsewhere to be discussed. No returns unless anything i stated or failed to state is incorrect or misleading. Thank you once again to the Forum for making this offer possible. Please pm with amy questions.
