Reluctantly for sale, but as usual another watch is on the horizon. Bought from Bill Shaine last year and in my opinion in lovely condition is my 1970s Glycine Airman. Sold to me as serviced, and I have no reason to doubt it, the watch is running strong with all functions working. In the pictures the crown is pulled out, showing that the hack function is working. Both original crowns are present and the bezel lock is fully functional. My only real criticism of the watch would be the worn case back. Nearly all the lettering has disappeared. I have attempted to open the back, but it's tight and I don't want to cause any damage by attempting to pry it off. If any buyers want a movement picture I'll get my local watch shop to open it for me. Watch will come on pictured NATO strap. Im asking £900ono. I'll take PayPal, bank transfer or cash. I'm in London if anyone wants a face to face. Thanks to OF for the space.
Have just found an interesting article on this particular model. Dates the watch earlier than I thought.http://milspectime.com/?p=644
Here is another link that discusses these cool watches http://andres55.home.xs4all.nl/glycine airman.pdf They were favorites of USAF personnel and ground troops during the Vietnam Era and sold in the PX overseas According to the site your watch dates anywhere from 1967-1978 Glad to see yours hacks properly-that little wire between the 2 and 4 of 24 that stops the second hand when the crown is pulled out was commonly broken off during service and not replaced. It is the size of a strand of human hair. Good Luck with your sale of this iconic watch
