Failed. Anyone else had problems with Omega clasps or am I unlucky?

You close the first half and then "click" shut the other half - the part that you squeeze the two buttons on either side to open. That part no longer holds.

Oh, you're talking about the bracelet butterfly clasp. I would say unlucky...... You'll need to find someone with an Omega parts account that can replace the clasp spring, but it would honestly be easier and quicker to just order a replacement clasp. Even Omega themselves don't replace worn or broken clasp springs if you send the watch for service.... they just replace the entire clasp.

Isn't this covered under warranty?
Yes, if the bracelet was the original band that came with the watch and you are within the 5 year warranty period as dated on your International warranty card or AD's purchase receipt.

For context, this issue is not related to the Globemaster series. I got both the Globie and a a Speedmaster Racing and they share the same clasp, so it could affect any watch with the same clasp type.

Asked Omega about warranty (yes or no) and got back a bunch of mumbo-jumbo about needing to see it for evaluation, etc. What have they got against answering a simple question?

They need to determine if it has failed because of a defect or abuse - that's not unusual...

Part of reply: "Please note that straps, bracelets, and clasps are typically not covered under the warranty, as they are considered wear-and-tear items."

So given that, you are complaining that they are still willing to look at it?
