Well I am going to go against the trend and put my vote for the globemaster simply because I like its look better!!

No need to worry about any trend mate, the aesthetics evaluation is completely subjective😀

A few years ago I owned and was very happy with my GO no date pictured here. A close friend talked me out of it when I was raising funds for a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms. Since then, the one hole in my collection has been a great all rounder, a little dressy a little sporty, that can go with a suit or a nice pair of jeans. So I'm no stranger to the quality of the GO.

I was actually shocked how much I liked the Omega when I happened into a newly opened Omega store. I had been ready to order the GO date but ...Having owned several vintage Omegas in the past including an all original pie pan Constellation I was very attracted to the Globemaster. Prior to this I had only seen a photo of it and was mildly curious at best. In the flesh, it was a whole different story. The contrast between the bezel and the brushed case surfaces along with the architecture of the dial really caught my eye.

So my decision is very much based on aesthetics as well as durability. I understand some will question the difference in price as a concern but I'm lucky enough for it not to be an issue. The process continues.

if I wanted dressy sporty then I would go with the globemaster or the orbis hour vision...you have the inside track on this one having owned the no date GO and clearly there is an emotional appeal for you for the pie pan dial...I personally like the fluted bezel and the way it plays with the light...so in this battleground state...we see a late and unpredicted swing for the globemaster😀...not comparing the omega to trump btw😁

I vote for GO, but have seen and tried on the GM and it was much more impressive in the metal than in the photo

totally biased as a GM owner but agree with this that GM generally don't photograph that well and much more impressive in person. If I only saw GM in photos , would never have bought it. LOVE GO's but not this one-- looks like a bit "dated" to me, personally.

one of the best GM photos I've seen.

The retro piepan dial and coin-edge bezel makes the GM a notch higher, not to mention the co-axial movement.

Also, according to an article in the most recent watchtime magazine, if you ever find yourself forgetting to take off your watch when your getting an MRI (hey you never know) then the GlobeMaster is the watch for you.

... to add, GM is far more versatile, dressy with straps but sporty/utilitarian on bracelet.

now, if you want to compare GM to this blue GO, that's a different matter...

Anyone know where one might get their hands on the Glashutte Sixties Panorama (no date) in Orange:
Reference 1-39-52-13-02-04. Not many ADs for the brand in the US, and those that have websites don't seem to offer it.

Rob at Topper carries both. I have bought both from him over the years and highly recommend him

i think the globe is more constructed while the GO is more "wild." I own neither but think id own the globe before i did the GO

Glashütte but the no date version...
But, honestly I would not choose any of the two....
Cheers

I think the GM looks awesome. But I would go with the GO Sixties Panorama Date between the two. I feel like the Panorama Date is essentially GO. I, for one, don't warm up to their Chrono because of most of them are modular. (But Seventies Chrono is awesome and I would get that before I even consider a Daytona)
