Give the CHRONOSCOPE some love!

Hi all,

I’m in the market for the new Omega Chronoscope but noticed there isn’t much love for it on the forums.

Does anyone have one who can give their experience with it along with some pictures.

I like the Panda dial the best, but what colour aftermarket strap colours do you think would suit it ?

For those who like it, let’s start an appreciation thread 😀

I like them! But this is just at an AD... I do not own one, yet.

I think the dial is gorgeous, and it’s a great movement as well. But I think there are a lot of Omega fans (myself included) who are confused as to the vintage styling on a very modern (43mm) case size. Whether through use of a different (smaller?) movement or otherwise, if this watch dial was on a 37-39mm case, it may have had much more popularity. I think the proof may be able to be seen with the new Speedy 57s - a colorful, vintage-ish dial with smaller case sizing (40.5mm). But, that’s just aesthetic opinion - the fact is it’s a great dial and a great watch.

The combination 1930's/1940's leaf hands and snail track multi scale chronograph dial styling coupled with both a tachymetre bezel and modern case and bracelet design is confusing for most, myself included.

I think this is what leaves most enthusiasts here cold and IMHO this design faux pas should not have made it off the drawing board.

There is just too much going on on the dial, imo. It has a really fine movement but I wouldn't pick it over any of the myriad 42mm Speedmasters introduced over the last few years unless you need a METAS movement, which you can now get on the base Speedmaster. I'm not sure what segment they were really shooting for.

Agreed… which is why I pick up the new 57 black dial speedy next week!

I really like the bronze gold. There’s one at my AD and it’s gorgeous. That’s the one I’d go for.

It has an obvious "presence" on the wrist. Impressive chrono. Very nice dial. My only question would be the reference to the name "speedmaster". I think that "chronoscope" would be enough, I don't see the need to link that lovely watch to the moonwatch.
