Hi all,
As mentioned by others this style from GP dates back to the 70's and was GP's answer to AP's Royal Oak and the Patek Philippe Nautilus so is not really a copy of anyone else's watch at all and is just their version of a sports watch at that time. I really find it hard to understand why GP fails to get any credit for what they produce most of the time and seem so unloved by most. As they have a long history of producing in house quality movements and have made some truly great watches in their time, admittedly they have also made some not so great looking watches but then which manufacturer hasn't? Also whilst they may not have great resale value this does mean they can be acquired pre owned at some really unreal prices and IMHO can offer great value for money of course only if you happen to like a particular model or not.
