The time zone sub-dial on my Aero Compax is dead. It can be set, but will not run. I've been told it is only a reminder dial and does not run, but that seems senseless to me. Aviation is more precise than that. Also the 12 o'clock sub-dial on the Tri -Compax works, so why would they eliminate that on the Aero? Can anyone out there help me?

Fear not, the subdial at 12 o'clock is a meme. It is not supposed to run ;) nothing is wrong with it. It was basically for setting time as reference point in navigating the plane, someone has elaborated on its use on this forum before. Would be great if you can post pictures :)

That dial is extremely precise, twice daily.:D

You have been told correctly. It is just a reminder dial.
