got this German market Speedy today. I bought it because it is a rare bird and I dont see any for sale since a long time, on the pictures it not really flashed me......but live it looks great. The case is polished but luckily not to much.
As I not really like leather straps I mount a time correct steel bracelet.

The black hands with the lume plots are the original hands. I believe that Omega ran out of these black painted gold hands at some point, and now use the all black painted gold hands (with exposed base) for watches that originally came with the lumed gold hands.

I had a DD145.022 with those same fully painted hands as service replacements and the watch came with Bienne service paperwork stating they were replaced. They did not comment on not having the original type hands available, but that was my suspicion and I think by seeing your watch my hunch was correct.

Here's my old DD145.022 with the same hands (and a service bezel for the keen eyed).

Thanks for your detailed answer:thumbsup:...for the other DD's its more or less easy to find out what is original and what is not, as there are some old catalogue with pictures available. For my DD I never see a picture from Omega and as we know the watches from the Omega museum are also not always correct;). But to be honest, I like the hands with lume more then the others.....

    well noted....:D

    Thanks,
Not sure. This is the only one I've seen with this dial in the watch (seen one lose dial previously).

Curious to find out the production number of this example, can't imagine that there are many of these pieces around.
