    Hi.
This is Omega Speedmaster 3710.20 watch and
I would like to know how to verify genuine or fake for this kind of watch. Mine comes with warranty card and original box, etc.
Has leather strap. (I guess after-market)
I don't see any red-dot or globe at the back.
I'm curious what kind of back cover for this watch is original. Sometimes I see with No Serial or serial with curved(Like mine) and aligned(Most of it).
I bought this watch from a guy in Ebay and He said he had check its genuine by visiting Omega retail shop in TX after purchasing from Japan.
    Thanks for the comment guys.

    Genuine.
I think the red dot would have worn off after 20 years (if it ever had one at the time).
Same as the "globe" which wasn't in use in 1995.

One of the Speedie guru's may be able to shed more light on this one.

To me the dial looks genuine, the lume on the markers is present and intact, the lume on the hands match the markers well. The crystal has an omega logo dead center in the middle. Case back and bezel look good.

Whether it's all factory original to this piece I am not 100% sure. More Speedmaster collectors will jump in soon. Beautiful piece!

Only one odd thing...on the hang tag it gives a serial number, and then a reference number of 37102031. I can't even find that reference number on the Omega Extranet, and when I look it up using the serial number, it's a ref. 37102099.

    Puzzling...

    Cheers, Al

    Genuine.

Have yet to see a fake Speedmaster which didn't look completely wrong at more than a seconds glance.

    @Archer interesting.

I also tried searching for that reference but could not find anything, I assumed I put it in wrong. Could be a replacement case back? But the tag has both numbers written clearly on it matching it...
Other possibility - could the tag be fabricated by a printing press? Or an error in the print by Omega?

Or maybe it's a rare never before seen new Speedmaster reference!!!
I'm interested to see where this goes, if anywhere.

    From yesterday's article.
I have this watch and no one is sure about Genuine. It's 1:2 now. I met 3 different guys repairer, pawn shop, Owner of Luxury watch shop and 2 said looks genuine but the owner of the shop said it looks very well made fake.
He looked for like 5 minutes.
He can't pick what is fake. Every parts of the watch seems real but not usual. He said the Crown and bezel is gold plated instead of gold filled. The size of the watch is also very unusual. It's too big for reduced and too small for speedmaster. There are more things he pointed out but I couldn't understand.
He said he can not gurantee but it seems fake.
He told me to visit Omega Boutique and ask for cleaning. If mechanic refuse to touching it, I'll have the answer.

If you can get it to an omga shop, they offer a free diagnostics on the watch. I'm sure they could tell you if it's real or not. If you want an answer here, you may need to share pics of the inside of the caseback and movement.

Second that. I'd say it's real though. Not many faked Speedmasters have the placement of the subdials right. The fakers are getting better and better, so I might be wrong. But it's an unusual Speedmaster, so I can't see why they would fake this one.

Looks genuine to me, if its fake its the best one I've seen yet.

Tag says 1140 which I'm guessing is the caliber and is correct for a Speedmaster automatic.

Have someone open the back, its a snap back so it shouldn't be too difficult.

As I said above, it's a 37102099 - there is no question about what it is, only what the tag says it is...

And it's certainly not a Cal. 1155 (which is an ETA 7750 base and an integrated chronograph). This is a modular chronograph, so a 2892 base with a module on top. You can sort of see that the pushers are higher that the crown on the case - a side shot would show it better. The Extranet lists the movement in this serial number as an 1143, so 1140 base, which is now a Cal. 3220 in it's latest version.

    Cheers, Al

    I have seen a few miss-stamped tags.

I visited Omega Boutique in San Diego just now and let them test the watch. They said nothing but it's beautiful watch and should get it serviced. I think that explain it's genuine. Actually they made me sat and learn about this watch. The time keeping, It's 180 sec faster per day. Time keeping was alright when I first got it but after I showed it to watchshop owner and made him open the back-case, something may happened. He took off the half moon to look closer inside of it. Maybe thats why it's not running as it should be.

With the close picture you can see the Omega symbol is not perfect in shape. Not off square to my eyes.Although I have had a few beers myself.
