Perhaps it is genuine, but have others seen this type of case back previously? And if so, with what reference might it be associated?

Thanks in advance!

I’m only used to late 50’s to early 70’s Omega, but to my eyes that inner logo immediately looks wrong. It’s too deep and the font just isn’t right.

It’s the outside that gives me pause, never seen anything like this on an Omega case.

That was also my thought.

Also don't recall seeing a screwback key pattern like that from Omega. Looks quite similar to the case backs used by many brands in the 50s/60s

Omega *never* used the word antimagnetic. Or shock absorber.
the Ω also has the wrong serifs. Way too long.

The number pattern looks more like a fake SN than manufacuring/case references.

There are much better watches for much less out there.

Any chance the photos are mixed up and these are two different case backs?

That's a good question. Now that you mention it, it appears that the inside photo is of a snap-back, and the other, a screw-back.

I'm pretty sure it's a screw back, you can see the raised edge where the thread would be.
Definitely something shonky going on, That's not an Omega caseback.

Any more pics of the watch?

But the rim appears to be round, which it can't be based on the other photo...

Yes, the rim is round, as in the case of any other screw back.

The outer side of the back has a dodecagonal shape caused by the recesses that mate with a special caseback too used to unscrew the back.
