    Hello experts

I have come in doubt whether this is an original dial or a repaint; it is a cal 354, serial 13 mill, ref 2577-6SC.
My suspicion has been that the laque somehow has been manipulated (it is a bit oxidated but not yellowish...the silver comes out strongly) but not a redial. Any perspective much appreciated...
    Best and thanks/Martin

I agree. Original, but harshly cleaned.

I would have said redial. The script is different from this, also in the 13 mill range.

Not an expert but the dial looks to at least to have been washed.

You mean the font thickness of "OMEGA"?

Yes. That too in addition to thickness of crosshair lines and what appear to be some general sloppyness. The S and R in seamaster might be ok but they differ from what I can remember.

BUT you could provide better pictures, as it is now its hard to say for certain.

We've seen that on constellation dials, too.

Looks original to me, I've seen a few of these lacquer clean jobs, often it can completely rectify a dial. It needs to be done extremely carefully, a few on here have achieved it, it's a huge risk to run but the results can be phenomenal

Thanks all for your perspectives; I like it a lot so I cannot do much more than like is as it is and if extremy luck strikes find an purely original dial in the future...great to get your views
