Genuine 12.68z?

Is it possible that this could have been a manufacturing error or is it a situation of “run away, run away”? It looks like an otherwise normal 12.68z.

I have little doubt that it is original. Probably like those (very low production) rare coins that had mistakes, except that this watch isn't likely to be worth much extra!

I wonder what could have caused such a thing. Did they use presses to make those signatures?

I would not run away (everything shown looks okay) but that is an odd flaw. I have seen weakly stamped(?) markings and markings that have been re-stamped but I do not recall seeing this before.

I'm assuming this was done with a pantograph engraver.
I suppose that this would make more sense with the missing number than if "Longines" was stamped.
