Geneve with 1481 movement / Purple dial – or is it?

    Hey guys,

I picked up this watch yesterday from a charity shop that occasionally gets stuff that for one reason or another wasn't delivered through the mail system. I've found some interesting things previously, but nothing special in the watch department.
I'm a little curious about this one, and if possible I'd like your feedback on it. I think the lettering on the dial looks okay, but I'm finding very few examples of the purple dial as shown here.

It has a 1481 movement that seems to check out, but I'm a little unsure on the rest. Any thoughts?

I vote redial, it looks like it has been spray painted. The hour markers look weird too. The spacing of the "Omega" lettering is kind of uneven. But im just a noob, what do I know... ;)

The date doesn't look right either. Nothing wrong with the Cal 1481 as a movement. It may not receive a lot of love like some other Omega movements, but I've had one for four years from a 1971 Geneve that works perfectly.

I would stay away from this one. I say a redial, hands do not appear to be original and the movement is in pretty rough shape, looks to have been exposed to moisture/humidity.

I've been having a look at the hands, and I think there's a chance that they've been cut before the narrowing part. They do look a bit odd. I already have the watch and did pick it up at very low cost, so I just need to figure out how to part with it without upsetting anyone.
