Hi, I am new to the world of Omega watches but have spotted one in a local jewellers that I like. The jeweller gave me the following details on the watch:

    VM522 approx. 1970
    Movement: 31915830
    Stainless steel
    Automatic
    Geneve
    Leather strap
    £995

It appears to be in excellent condition, does this sound like a fair price? Are there any docs about this model I could look at, I have looked in the Omega database for VM522, 522 and the model number but no results were found? I would also be interested in any details of auction/jeweller sales of this model that could give me an idea of the price these watches are going for. I am new to this forum and the world of Omega watches in general so any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Ady.

Hard to say much without photos. However:
    - never heard of any model starting witu VM. Could that be the jeweller's stock number?
    - geneves were entry level models, so £995 sounds a bit steep.

Yes, I would say it was pricey for an SS model especially a 1970s one. There's better value around.
    Cheers
