·Hi folks,
Hopefully you may be able to impart some wisdom and point me in the right direction.
I’ve recently purchased a Geneve 166.0173 with the integrated bracelet. Still a sharp looking piece after all these years, but unfortunately the bracelet is now so stretched that i cannot get a comfortable fit. I have 6.5 inch wrists, but even with all links removed, and on the smallest micro adjustment it is still slightly too large. If there was the ability to remove one more link, then it would be just about perfect. I understand these bracelets can stretch with age, but i did not expect it to not fit, and i was unable to try on beforehand.
I recently visited an Omega AD who confirmed that it appears that they have a bracelet with matching serial in stock 1181/215, but could not guarantee it would fit, and that it is non-returnable / refundable.
As the bracelet isn’t cheap at £470 - not far off the value of the watch itself, do you think it is worth the risk in purchasing from the AD? In your opinion would it be easy to re-sell should it not fit. I’m UK based
If it was a guaranteed fit, then i would most likely go ahead with the purchase.
Anyway, thoughts welcomed, even if it’s to tell me to get it purchased and to stop being a ninny!
