I just registered to attend Phillips and Christie's auctions in Geneva this week end!

Both collections are stunning! here are links to their catalog for you guys to enjoy some nice viewing!

    - Christie's "Rare Watches"
    - Phillips "Start Stop Reset" (special chronographs)
    - Phillips "Geneva auction 3"

I even found my Grail here! Twice actually as both Phllips & Christie's have a Zenith Cairelli CP-2
Few chances I'll be able to afford one of those but they're offered without reserve price so with a bit of luck... ::psy::

And for the numerous fans of Speedy around here, you'll find a crazy Broad Arrow at pages 182/183 of the Christie's catalog! estimate is between 90k and 140k!!!
Can't wait to see where this one is going to go up to!::popcorn::

I won't be bidding, but like many others, will be closely monitoring how they all go. The Start Stop Reset auction should be appointment streaming for anyone not there.

On the up side, I own a watch that's apparently special enough to warrant inclusion in the Christie's "Rare Watches" catalogue. On the down side, it's the cheapest one in there :whistling:

All of my watches were bought from the Bay's "rare watches" auctions.
It always says so (RARE WATCH !) in the title...and the description...

Look through any auction catalog - every single watch is "Very fine and rare" ! So many rare watches....

"Rare" and "NOS" are mostly commercial claim as both terms are very relative.

Sounds like will be fun and could be a good indication of which way the upper end of the market is heading. A report would be greatly appreciated thanks. Zenith looks very nice and you won't get any competition from me at those prices ;)

Some serious chronos there. I would love to be there just to see if any of them slip through the cracks and could be had at a semi-rational price. One of those days when I wish I had a lot more money.

I surely can't compete either! But at least I'll dream a little bit! :)

I'm actually going to bid on one watch at Christie's, so I'd appreciate if all other forum members would refrain from doing so. And since I won't reveal the lot number, please skip the entire auction.

I'm just going to live vicariously through you guys. There are about 20 that I'll be mentally bidding on.

it's going to be difficult to slip out of bed at the crack of dawn (on this side of the pond) to participate in the first of the auctions, even more difficult to keep possible purchase(s) hidden from wife's purview...

Live. With exceptions, most early lots at Phillips coming in within "estimated" range.

Yes, having same difficulties, but with these prices, well, retirement funds will stay so..
