Fellow crazy people, I have a beautiful example of a 2577 Seamaster with a hobnail dial in very, very good shape. Thing is: It’s gold-capped and I recently found an example in identical configuration, yet with an 18k case. It does hurt a little, but I guess it doesn’t make sense to keep two pieces that look so similar. So while I’m aware this is a long shot, I figured I’d offer it here for trade only for now. Maybe some of you owns some 50s hobnail Seamaster or Constellation he/she likes a little less and would be happy with an exchange. I don’t mind money on top going either way, as values might not be exactly the same. Here it is: A few words regarding the condition: The two-tone dial is pristine, whatever you might see in the pictures will be on the plexi. The case is among the sharpest gold-capped examples I’ve seen and in very good condition overall. A small ding on the bezel around 6 is the most notable defect. Original, flat foot clover crown, as is correct for the ref. The movement is clean, winds very smoothly and it keeps good time. Service history is unknown. It comes with the original Omega papers from the purchase in 1955, the serial matches the on movement and the papers. I’m only looking for other 50s hobnail examples. And yes, I’m aware this limits the possibilities for a trade absurdly. Watch is located in Germany, happy to ship wherever though and also to assist with shipping from you to me. Plenty of feedback available here, if you don’t know me please do ask. And now, a few pictures to drool over. Thanks @OF for the space!
I’ll try a single bump for this - if it doesn’t work I’ll concede to the unlikelihood of the endeavour.
