OK, a few years ago while surfing the bay I came across a listing for Omega parts. Upon looking at the picture below on the listing, my jaw dropped, I picked up the telephone right away and called a good watch buddy in Florida. I asked him, "did you see that listing?" He says, "no I didn't" so I give him the item number and he takes a look at the listing. After about 20 seconds of silence, the first words out of his mouth were, "Are you going to bid on that? Please let me win this auction and I will hook you up." I say OK, and the rest is history. He wins the auction.

So, what did I see in this picture that would make every Omega collector "in the know" scramble like hell to get these parts?

To make it fair, Mike, Erich, Achim and anyone else with over 1,000 posts has to wait at least 8 hours to answer.

This picture was at half the resolution of this one on the original listing.

I'm going to hold off on answering since I already know the right answer. Very interesting topic though!

To live in this state, you gotta be tough.

Why do I keep hearing "shadoobee..... shattered" in my head since I typed that sentence? :p

I don't actually know what those parts are, I mean the bottom left look like some sort of bridge but its not 33.3 or Cal 321, and the slot above looks like reset hammers of some sort. I'm wondering if there are some moonphase parts in there?

Center right - there aren't enough teeth on that bronze gear to be the main moonphase disc. There would be 59. So which part is the elusive piece that is always bad?

Yes, moonphase parts in the right middle slot. No longer available and this part is required if the date corrector no longer functions.
Part Number 381.1512 = date star driving wheel.

This thread seems to have petered out? Did you ever figure out what these parts were? Are they for the 381 as suggested above? Or are they generic moonphase parts interspersed with some Omega parts?

the parts we are discussing are middle row, right hand column. From reply above "this part is required if the date corrector no longer functions.
Part Number 381.1512 = date star driving wheel."

Yes, I saw that but what was this lot, a cache of 381 parts? Or did that single part just happen to be in there?
