Hi guys

i’ve been offered a Zenith G384. I’m not massively up to speed with any Zenith watches and thought I will post it here to see if any of you guys can tell me if anything is wrong with any of it. Any information you have is greatly appreciated and if you want to send a DM if you like.

It looks nice but the lume is awfully white for a 50 year old watch.

These 18k gold tonneau cases with a384 and a3817 style dials are “undocumented”. Tread carefully.

I don’t know this reference but I dislike the dial, I think it should be the same of A384, the written El Primero looks different to me, also CHRONGRAPH (look at letter G for example), also numbers, Be careful

There is a rare model which is called ref. G384. Whatchpool24 (Franz Roman) have such a model for sale at the Moment, which IMHO looks fully original (except crown). The original dial has " - Swiss Made - T" at the Botton, same as the a384, a385, a386 and G381. Your example has "T - Swiss Made - T". That means that at least the dial is not original to this Ref. IMO the dial also looks very strange (printing, lume colour).

Hands und subdial hands (at least hour recorder) also look off. Do you have pictures from the caseback (outside, inside) and movement ? What is the serial number ?

I would stay away.

As much as I admire this case shape in 18k gold, i have never come across any evidence to support their production by Zenith.

Do you have any evidence you can share?
