Hey OF, Another one up on the block...really sad to see this go. So here's a -71 speedy customized, I really wanted the very rare 1980 BC345.0802 and this was the only realistic way for me to get close to it. I used the -71 because I wanted to see the 861 with the OEM display back more than the 1861. I wore it on the display back for a bit. What I love so much about this is that the dial plays so nicely with the light. The subdials and the dial surface are finished differently, so it's been one of the very few metallic dials that I liked wearing in the sun. The surface is finished vertically while the subdials are finished radially. The applied indexes also have an angle such that the light catches them as your wrists move. The black bit in each index is also an excellent touch. The dial has even a step, which adds to the effect with the light. The 861 has been serviced and is running strong. Case is in good condition. I'm asking 4400 USD for this - it's a lot less than what I spent on this. Comes with the desirable 1499 bracelet that I prefer more than the modern ones due to taper. Any offers and questions welcome, just shoot me a message. And as always.. thank you OF for the space!
So much for the purists - I don't mind a mod when it's done tastefully and unambiguously... Which is the case here GLWS!
Agree with @Lonestar - this is a beautiful looking piece at a great price!! Any daylight shots to show off the dial?
