All,

I’m aware of the Seamaster 300 (pic attached) LE, but am wondering: what other full platinum—meaning case and bracelet—watches has Omega made, modern or otherwise?

Alas, the official Omega website’s search feature leaves much to be desired when it comes to such archival questions. Not coming up with anything else via C24 or Google either.

Don’t expect a big response to this query, but will be eager to learn whatever anyone else has to share.

You guys are awesome—thank you. I knew there had to have been a speedy, and I had remembered seeing that Yachtmaster-looking SMP300 before but began to doubt myself.

Here’s a few more, there are some additional models I’ll be writing about soon including a very special and rare piece from the 80’s / 90’s but Omega did make a variety of full platinum models back in the day also.

The Constellation Grand Luxe in platinum… even the one on strap has a bracelet option.

Was just gonna post the first one of those, too. Incredible piece - and what a unicorn.

Here we go -
I worked hard on this list, so I hope all the 3-5 people in this world who truly care about this topic (myself included) will enjoy😀

1. https://watchesbysjx.com/2018/05/ha...seamaster-300-malachite-and-lapis-lazuli.html
Full Platinum Seamaster 300 with lapis malachite dials (I understand from a Tim Mosso video that you have to special order the bracelet for these).

2. https://www.fratellowatches.com/the-platinum-seamaster-300m-that-comes-with-the-neimann-marcus-fantasy-gift/

3. https://www.fratellowatches.com/platinum-speedmaster-moonphase-watches/ - I understand that the platinum bracelet on these never made it to market (probably because they’re kinda huge, lol)

4. https://www.fratellowatches.com/platinum-speedmaster/ - Platinum diamond Speedmaster in this link - I understand only five were made with the diamond and platinum bracelet

5.https://www.monacolegendauctions.com/auction/exclusive-timepieces-15/lot-106 - only ten of these (love this beauty, have no idea how to find one)

If I ever got that green lapis one on my wrist, I’d never take it off.

I can only assume that the Lapis dial on a bracelet is one of those watches that may never come up for sale.. Someone would have to buy it on the bracelet new/used, then add the preposterous premium for the bracelet, only to sell it haha.

I believe the lapis is the blue stone and the malachite is the green😀

You’re right—pre-coffee here.

And agree, re: rarity.

Even the ‘regular’ blue platinum 300–161 pieces, which is a lot in context—has only come up as a preowned listing once that I’m aware of, in Japan. Granted, it sat for many many months but it did sell. They are very rare birds. Someone in Hawaii recently had just the box for that watch for sale, which tells me (maybe too presumptuously) that whoever bought the watch is planning to keep it and doesn’t care about the full set.

Currently someone’s selling the box for the 007 one on eBay—for 3k US!

Not an answerable question, but I do wonder whether the folks who buy these super-expensive LEs in platinum new from Omega are watch-people or just regular folks with lots of money to burn…

I believe they’re mostly people with lots of money to burn. Most “watch-people” are willing to wait months/years to save 10s of thousands of dollars on a watch purchase when they buy second hand (obviously not relevant for Rolex, but for Omega 40%-60% off is standard on PM watches.
Regarding the regular blue platinum, I believe we had this conversation before. There are 357 with the full bracelet.
I think you were mixing up the numbers with the strap version of your white gold Aqua Terra.
I think I told you I’m hoping to get the enamel blue platinum version on bracelet.
I’ve been speaking to a dealer for quite some time now, and I think we’ve figured out a trade + cash deal that works for the both of us😀
So I’m probably gonna get it in the next few weeks. You were totally my pm density inspiration with your Aqua Terra (which was my first choice).
Funny story though, after I get it I plan on not wearing it for about a year. I usually buy watches to celebrate a special occasion, and I have none to celebrate now,
I do have something special coming up next summer, so I think that’ll be the first time I actually look at the watch and wear it.
Until then, it’ll just be burning a hole in my closet😀

357–of course. Again, pre-coffee. 😀 But that just makes my point even stronger.

That’s amazing re: the platinum watch! They have one on-hand? Or is it a special order situation?

There actually is one currently for sale in one of the boutiques in New York😀
Long sorty short, I spoke to them and asked them if they have one for sale and they told me they can bring one in from Europe.
I got a call last week from the boutique manager that they received it, and that I’m welcome to come in and check it out if I’d like (don’t have to buy it of course).

How’ve over the past few months I’ve been in contact with a dealer who had one and I was going to purchase it from him but could not get myself to pull the trigger..
While I was contemplating he sold it🙁
However, I got a call from him literally two days after I got a call from the boutique telling me that the person who bought it might want to return it if I still want it.
I rarely ever get a second chance with these types of things, so I thought about it for an hour and then sent him a down payment.

that was not a long story short at all.
